Samsung's Galaxy range is well known for its out-of-this-world specs but if you're looking for a handset whose technology is a little less alien, then the Samsung Ace might just do the job and comes with all the necessary smartphone goodness that's a little easier to navigate than its bigger galactic siblings.

The pocket-friendly 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen is just the right size for enjoying whatever you fancy and there's plenty to get your teeth into. The Ace is powered up by an 800MHz processor, which is teamed with Android 2.2 Froyo so you're in safe hands from the start. Browsing isn't a problem with 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity on board and all the usual Google pieces are included too.

The Ace's 5MP camera will keep you busy as will the media player and there's 158MB of internal memory in which to save all your files. If this doesn't sound like enough then you can always invest in a microSD card, the Ace will take anything up to 32GB.

Ok phone on a budget Phone is alright for the price, and good addition with the android apps. Phone seem a bit light and not really hard wearing. But seems easy to use. Battery life is poor. 24 February 2012

Does everything... I got the samsung galaxy ace as a cheap alternative to the galaxy s2 and I must say I haven't been disappointed! It might not be as fast as the s2 but applications and websites still load at blistering speed, the battery life is also good, I can normally get 2 days without a charge. The only downside is the plasticy feel, which makes it feel very cheap, but I recently bought a tough case and I don't notice it anymore as it feels much heavier/rugged in my hand. Definitely recommended! 24 February 2012

Value for money! I wanted a phone that would make calls, view facebook, browse the web and download some apps. This phone does it perfectly and at a much lower price than some of the new handsets. I think the battery could be better but after turning of gps like the internet said it has improved a lot. 21 February 2012
