If there is a style of mobile phone Nokia excels at, it’s the simple candybar. Welcome to the Nokia 6700. An evolution of the 6300, the Nokia 6700 combines a classic design with modern features and has retained the silver/black livery, whilst incorporating a metal keypad with a smooth metallic case for a sleek luxurious finish.
Crammed with a series of excellent main features, the 6700 has one or two surprises inside. On the sleek, uncluttered rear panel is the lens for a 5 megapixel camera complete with a powerful LED flash, autofocus and VGA video shooting capability, while along the side you’ll find the camera shortcut key and volume rocker. A microSD card slot is hidden underneath the battery so no hot-swapping, but does make for a cleaner look. The 6700 is a 3G device with HSDPA support and A2DP Bluetooth, plus Assisted GPS with Nokia Maps pre-installed on the included microSD card.
The phone uses S40 6th Edition so therefore you'll have an excellent music player, decent HTML browser, plus the familiar Nokia icons and layout. Using the phone is a pleasure - the keys are easy to press, despite being mounted on a single surface, and the soft keys falling to thumb comfortably. In the centre of the handset is the D-pad for navigation purposes, plus it houses an alert LED to signal a new SMS or missed call. Finally, just like on the top range Arte series handsets, a tap of the 6700 mutes an incoming call - very neat indeed!
The 6700 also boasts two features which will be working away without you noticing, but all the while improving your mobile experience. The first is CABC, Content Adaptive Brightness Control, which uses sensors for determining the amount of ambient light around you, then by checking to see what application you’re using, adjusting the screen brightness and contrast accordingly - for example a game would be brighter and more powerful than reading an SMS - putting less strain on the battery and improving its standby time. Nokia have also introduced UNC - Uplink Noise Cancellation - to improve even further the call quality on the 6700. It does this by monitoring two microphones, one for the voice and another for surrounding environmental sound, to create the clearest possible call.

she a little gem! she slides into your hand so easily and fits so snug Im so glad I finished that affair with samsung.. 6700 I love you I might even take her to bed with me.

THIS PHONE WAS BRILL WHEN I HAD IT BUT 3 WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEMS STARTED,WHEN RECIEVINGG A CALL I COULDN'T HEAR A THING THE SOUND WAS ALL DISTORTED, I TOOK IT BACK TO BE REPAIRED AND AFTER 2 WEEKS WAIT THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER THE THIRD TIME IN ASKING TO BE REPAIR WITHIN 2 DAYS THE PROBLEM RE OCCRED, SO NOW THIS PHONE IS STORED AWAY IN THE CUPBOARD AND WILL STAY THERE.....

I've been using this phone for 3 months now.
It has classic design with all the latest features required in a mobile.
Feels good and does exactly what was promised.
ring tones are loud and clear. Battery life is not bad.
Has got sensor touch i.e. tap the phone twice to silent it, when requited. though I must say this feature is hardly required.
A good buy for those who are not too keen on a touch screen phone.

After a brief affair with Samsung that ended badly I came back to Nokia. Been waiting for this to be released to upgrade my trusty 6300.
Worth the wait, only had it a few days, but fabulous. Does exactly what it says on the tin, only better than you expect!

If you like your 6300, and you want to upgrade to something with a similar design with rock solid features, this is the phone to go with.
