GSMA Investigate Embedded SIM Cards

A new international task force has been set-up by the GSMA to investigate the potential for using embedded SIM cards in devices that would benefit from a data connection. Could this also apply to GSM mobile phones?

2013 Earliest for UK 4G LTE Network

Speaking at a conference yesterday, Ofcom’s chief executive laid out his plans for the UK’s 4G LTE network. If it goes according to plan, it’ll be 2013 before operators are able to use the new bandwidth, leaving us well behind other countries.

Every year, to close Mobile World Congress in style, the GSMA have held a Gala Dinner where industry big-wigs get together, eat well, and settle back to enjoy the Global Mobile Awards ceremony.  This year the event was split into two parts, with Stephen Fry hosting the awards in the afternoon and Duran Duran providing the evening entertainment.
