Mobile phone blog Loads of news, reviews, comments and stuff!
T-Mobile USA has just announced the launch of a new green mobile coupon application. This ap meets customer’s latest demands in two areas – mobile coupons and green mobile applications. These are both trends that are likely to see significant growth in the next year or so. People who are interested in saving the earth and saving money at the same time will support the development of these apps.
The new application from T-Mobile USA is called Green Perks. It allows customers to receive mobile phone coupons for eco-friendly services and products. The coupons are delivered directly to the customer’s phone. These coupons can then be cashed in at the store for which the coupon was created using the store’s point-of-sale system. Major stores are participating in the program as are smaller businesses.
Mobile coupons are increasingly popular for a number of reasons. They are more efficient than printable coupons for both the customer and the advertiser. Customers like them because they don’t have to carry handfuls of coupons around with them anymore. Advertisers like them because they cost less to create plus they can be targeted to specific users much more easily than printed coupons can. Advertisers can use T-Mobile’s new Green Perks program to create coupons through the site; they can market almost anything as long as it has an eco-friendly slant to it.
Another obvious benefit of mobile coupons is that they are green themselves. If you’re not printing out coupons then you’re avoiding a lot of wasted ink and wasted paper. Avoiding waste is a green philosophy that fits in nicely with a lifestyle geared towards saving money. People who avoid waste to be green may also avoid waste to reduce spending. That’s why it makes so much sense that green-minded mobile phone users are going to take an interest in money-saving applications like T-mobile’s new Green Perks program.
Money-saving mobile aps are hardly the only green applications available for phones though. In fact, a lot of the most popular phone aps are related to going green. For example, a lot of people are enjoying the iRecycle ap for the iPhone which allows you to easily find nearby places to recycle almost any product (including your mobile phone!) T-Mobile is actually a leader in this area, offering an entire suite of green products through the company’s Mobilize Initiative. These products include a paperless billing program and a green phone. Green Perks updates the suite with green applications which is the area of mobile phone development that is hottest right now.
Green is really trendy right now so we’re likely to see continued growth in this area of cell phone applications. And since saving money is also important, it wouldn’t be any surprise to see additional green mobile coupon apps developed this year.

Any “paperless billing program” has not seemed to remove or reduce the “regulatory recovery fee” that all United States phone companies seem to charge.
