Are you obsessed with taking selfies? Do you feel the need to have your own grinning face in each photo you take? If so, Sony has announced a smartphone you’re going to love. It’s called the Xperia C3, and the front camera has been treated with the same respect as the rear camera.
Like several other manufacturers recently, Sony has fitted a 5 megapixel camera above the screen, and given it a wide 25mm lens with an 80 degree field of view. This means not only will your selfies look great, but you’ll be able to jam all your mates into the same shot. But that’s not the best part. Unusually, Sony has fitted an LED flash alongside it, which will cast a soft light over your snaps.
All this tech is accompanied by a healthy selection of apps and software features, each designed to enhance your photos. These include an HDR mode, auto scene recognition, and apps such as Portrait Retouch, which lets you apply one of ten different beauty styles, including four for guys. The front camera also shoots video, so you don’t have to only settle for stills.
The Xperia C3 isn’t a small phone either. Sony has given it a 5.5-inch screen with a 720p resolution, and crammed a quad-core processor inside, along with 1GB of RAM. The rear camera has all the same toys as the front, but with 8-megapixels instead. Finally, the phone will connect to 4G LTE networks, so you can quickly share your best snaps.
Initially available in China this August, Sony promises the Xperia C3 will get an international release in the near future.
