More photos which appear to show Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S4 Zoom replacement have been leaked. The device’s final name isn’t known yet, but it may be the Galaxy K Zoom, rather than the Galaxy S5 Zoom. Either way, the pictures show a very different looking phone to the old S4 Zoom.
The main difference is with the lens. On the S4 Zoom, it was part of a larger assembly on the phone’s rear, making it very bulky. On the new model, the lens retracts completely inside the phone’s body, making it look considerably more sleek. The picture does show the 10x optical zoom will still be a feature though, and in other images, the lens is completely extended.
We can also see the camera should have 20 megapixels, putting it above the Galaxy S5, and it’ll be equipped with a xenon flash for the best possible low-light performance. Samsung introduced a perforated rear cover with the Galaxy S5, and it looks like the K Zoom will have a similar effect. Other possible features leaked in the past include a 4.8-inch, 720p screen, a choice of either a hexa-core or a quad-core processor, and Android KitKat installed.
Samsung will be holding a special event on 29 April, and although we don’t know exactly what it will reveal, the invitation certainly gave a strong hint it’ll be for the K Zoom. We’re looking forward to this one, and will bring you all the news on the day.
