This year’s Mobile World Congress takes place next week in Barcelona, and we’re pleased to announce we’ve recruited one of the UK’s top tech bloggers to report on the biggest news and announcements throughout the event.
We’re sending Tomi Adebayo, aka GadgetsBoy, to Spain to get his verdict on the panels and presentations being given by the biggest players in the mobile industry. During the four-day conference you can expect to see daily updates and screenshots from Tomi on our blog as he gets up close and personal with some of the biggest names and the best handsets of 2014.
Mobile World Congress is now in its eighth year in Barcelona, although the event has been around since the late 80s. Acting as both an exhibition and conference, it attracts the leading thinkers in the mobile world to network and show off their stuff. At one booth you’ll find the engineers entrusted with providing healthcare solutions and at the next, the entertainment executives who want to bring everyone together through mobile gaming.
You’ll find both of these and more taking part in the Connected City; a joint effort between the GSMA and its associated partners. This aims to show users how wireless and mobile technology can make any aspect of our personal and working lives easier with a range of displays and product demonstrations.
Keynote speakers at this year’s Mobile World Live conference include Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, and Rich Riley, the CEO of Shazam Entertainment. Also on the bill are Robert Bakish, President and CEO of Viacom and Virginia M. Rometty, Chairman, President and CEO of IBM. These speakers and many more will bring knowledge and expertise from their respective fields to the world of mobile, laying down the initial tracks for where we can expect the industry to head over the next few years.
You can expect daily updates from GadgetsBoy as he casts his eye over each day’s announcements, along with tweets and photographs of whatever is wowing the crowds.
