What appears to be an international version of the Sony Xperia Z1F has leaked online under the name of Xperia Z1S.
The trimmed-down version of the Japanese firm’s flagship emerged in the company’s home country last month, following a trend for producing miniature iterations of high-end handsets that was started by Samsung and has also been seen from HTC.
Following on from an image that was posted online by the people behind reliable Twitter feed @evleaks, specs for the device have also emerged. They point towards the handset having a 4.3-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
The leak also suggests that the device may have the same 20.1 megapixel camera seen on the Xperia Z1. If this proves to be true it will be a real selling point for the Xperia Z1S, as that sort of photographic power has so far been limited to only the very highest end of the smartphone world.
There’s no information on pricing and release dates yet, but if what we’ve seen so far is anything to go by the Xperia Z1S could shape up to be one of the best ‘mini’ handsets available.
