The big-screen Nokia device has been talked about for a while now, often under its codename of Bandit, and we’re expecting it to be the headline device at Nokia’s event on 22 October.
According to this new leak, it’s going to be a really exciting phone, certainly for Windows Phone standards, as it’s all set to be the first, true smartphone/tablet hybrid using Microsoft’s operating system. It’s made possible by the new version of the OS, which adds support for Full HD screen resolutions and quad-core processors.
The Lumia 1520 should make use of both these new features. The 6-inch display’s resolution should be 1080p, while the processor is expected to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800. It’ll be backed up by 2GB of RAM, along with a choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage capacity.
Like the Lumia 1320, a 20.7-megapixel camera should be found on the back of the phone, complete with PureView branding. The Lumia 1520 should have wireless charging, but only through a separate case. The body is expected to be sold in three different colours, black, white and yellow.
Nokia is holding a major event on Tuesday, October 22, where according to previous rumours, it’s preparing to launch six new devices. The Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 could be joined by the Lumia 2520 tablet, plus other hardware such as the Lumia 525 and the Asha 502. We’ll bring you all the news after the event.
