Samsung Unveils Flip Phone

Samsung has unveiled an Android handset that features an unusual and rather old fashioned form factor, suggesting that the Korean firm is open to experimenting with ideas.

Samsung’s new model, the SCH-W789 Hennessy features two 3.3-inch HGVA displays, one on either side of the flip-top, and the company’s trademark buttons just below.

Other specifications for the new model include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1500mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, a microSD slot and a 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone will run Android Jelly Bean and it is thought the handset will be largely aimed at the Chinese market.

Nobody is expecting it to sell like the tech giant’s Galaxy S4 or the Note 2, but for those who harbour a guilty pleasure for T9 texting, this could be the one for you.
