Huawei is holding a press event in London on 18 June, where it has made it obvious the Ascend P6 is the smartphone which will be revealed, as it has splashed several stories about it all over its Facebook page. Previous leaks have given us a good idea of its specs, but now, less than a week away from the event, we’ve been given an almost complete rundown.
Published by smartphone site GSMArena, the Ascend P6′s spec came from an internal Huawei document. It confirms the screen will measure 4.7-inches and have a 720p resolution, while the processor will be a quad-core 1.5GHz K3V2+ chip of Huawei’s own design.
Added to this will be an 8 megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage memory, 2GB of RAM, a monster 5 megapixel video call camera and a 2000mAh battery. The phone will run Android 4.2, plus it will have Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi. There’s no word if it’ll have 4G LTE connectivity though. The Ascend P6 is going to be very slim, at just 6.5mm thick, and will weigh 120 grams. We’ve seen the design already, and it’s set to be one of the best looking Huawei devices yet.
Huawei is very excited about the Ascend P6, and it’s unusual for it to host a major launch event, which due to its London setting indicates the phone will be put on sale here. We’ll find out the last details – the price and final release date – on 18 June.
