Samsung has announced it will be holding an event on 20 June in London, but the event isn’t one of Samsung’s Unpacked shows, so it’s not going to concentrate on a single device. Instead, the firm going to be showing off a variety of new products, all of which will fall into its Galaxy and ATIV brands.
Although both brand names will be familiar to mobile fans, it’ll be Galaxy which makes us think of exciting phones such as the Note 2 and the Galaxy S4. We’re not expecting the Note 3 to arrive until September, so we’re going to speculate Samsung may be using this event for further S4 phones, or its Galaxy Tab tablets.
The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 has recently been announced, and we’ve seen leaks regarding a Tab 3 with an 8-inch and a 10.1-inch display – the latter of which may feature an Intel processor – and both could be launched during the event. We’ve also seen several spin-off S4 phones leaked over the past weeks, such as the tough S4 Active, and the sequel to last year’s S III Mini, the S4 Mini. Leaks have also hinted at the existence of an S4 Zoom and an S4 Mega. Little is known about either, but the former may have a camera with an optical zoom function.
As for the ATIV products, Samsung now uses the ATIV brand to cover everything which runs Windows, including laptops, tablets and smartphones. A sequel to the ATIV S Windows Phone 8 device is possible, but so is a new series of laptops running Windows 8. We’ll find out everything on 20 June.
