If you’ve got an Instagram account then you’re going to love our latest Weekly Web Highlight. Trainer giant Nike has taken customisation to the next level and fans of the sports brand can now use their gallery of Instagram pictures to create their own unique pair of Nike AirMax.
The clever new site goes by the name of Nike PhotoiD and combines a user’s love of fashion and smartphone photography, simply by taking colours from a selected image and putting them on to the trainers of their choice.
Once you’re on the site simply log into your Instagram account to bring up your gallery of images. Select the picture featuring your favourite colours, tap on the style of trainer you desire and within seconds the palette of colours from the photo are incorporated on the blank trainer canvas.
If the generated image doesn’t quite suit your taste Nike PhotoiD also provides three other different colour variations, so if you want one shade to feature more prominently on your trainers the option is there to change your selection.
Users can then choose whether to purchase their stylish new custom-made trainers or just share it to the gallery, where hundreds of others have already submitted their creations.
There are several search tabs within the gallery should you want to see what else is on offer, for instance the option to look at only trainers of a specific colour – a great feature if you’re struggling to find your own image with a certain shade. You can even look to see if any of those who you follow on Instagram have also used the site.
If you place an order it’ll take around a month for your trainers to land on your doorstep, but who’d have thought that taking random pictures of yesterday’s lasagne or last weekend’s night out could result in your perfect pair of kick.
