So, are you over the Galaxy S4? Heard enough about the HTC One? If you have, then you’re probably looking for the next big thing – quite literally. We’re talking about the Galaxy Note 3, which according to the latest rumour will be introduced at the IFA show this August.
The news comes from SamMobile, a regular source of Samsung gossip, and it claims an insider has given it the tip, and added that not only would the new tablet/smartphone hybrid be introduced, but the brand-new Galaxy Tab 3 range too.
To be honest, the launch of the Note 3 at the Berlin-based tech trade show isn’t much of a stretch, as the Note 2 was launched just before the show in 2012. Samsung made a point of saying the Galaxy S4 event was only part one of its Unpacked tour this year, and it makes sense the next one will be for Samsung’s other flagship device, the Note 3.
As for the Galaxy Tab 3 range, these will replace the Tab 2 models currently on sale, and are expected to have Android 4.2.2 onboard, but other specifications are unknown.
Previous rumours have given the Galaxy Note 3 a 5.9-inch display, which is 0.4-inches larger than the Note 2, plus the Exynos 5 Octa processor. However, given the Galaxy S4 will be a quad-core phone in the UK, there’s every chance the Note 3 will be the same.
IFA Berlin starts on 6 September and runs until 11 September, but if Samsung is to release the Note 3 and Tab 3 hardware around that time, expect a separate Unpacked event to be held just before the start of the show.
