A leaked image of the RIM’s new BlackBerry 10 flagship touchscreen device has revealed it will be called the BlackBerry Z10.

Up until now the handset has been referred to as the BlackBerry L-Series, one of two new smartphones from RIM due to be announced at a press event in New York on 30 January 2013.

The latest marketing material revealed by Unwired View also shows the BlackBerry Z10 will be available in black and white.

Other speculation doing the rounds points to the second and more traditional BB10 QWERTY device (currently coded the N-Series) could arrive under the name of the BlackBerry X10, although no retail branded images have been leaked to back this up.

RIM’s market share has dropped dramatically during the last year so the success of its BlackBerry 10 handsets is seen as a critical move in shaping the future of the Canadian firm.

We’ll have all the official details when RIM hosts its press event at the end of January so keep checking the Dialaphone blog for all the latest BlackBerry news.
