Itself the rebranding of the Japan-only HTC J Butterfly, the Droid DNA was particularly exciting because of its 5-inch, 1080p display and quad-core processor. But as it’s a Verizon exclusive in the US, it can’t be replicated exactly elsewhere in the world, due to the complicated licencing of the Droid name, plus the fact the network uses the CDMA standard and not GSM.
Another set of pictures, this time considerably more detailed, of the Deluxe have been leaked. They show the phone in brown, black and white colour schemes, the Beats Audio logo on the rear, and the same flashes of red down the side of the chassis that made the Verizon model look so modern.
The source of the leak says the phone will be named the HTC Deluxe DLX, which sounds a little strange to us, but as the phone has been referred to as the DLX in the past, we can see from where the idea comes.
Although there was little doubt they would be altered, the source also says the Deluxe DLX’s spec will be the same as the Droid DNA/J Butterfly.
The final piece of tantalizing information is we may learn more about the phone on 6 December. Here’s hoping for confirmation of an event from HTC soon.
