LG Exec Accidentally Confirms Nexus 4 for October 29

Whoopsy! LG’s Head of Mobile Product Planning, Amit Gujral, should have planned his interview a little better, as he has accidentally let slip that Google will be announcing the LG Nexus 4 on 29 October. Although we’ve seen plenty about the Nexus 4 already, it was still only a rumoured device, so everything we’d seen could still be dismissed as idle fantasy.

Now though, that’s not the case, as Gujral has revealed almost everything there is to know about the phone during an interview with IBNLive.in. He’s quoted as saying the phone will be announced at Google’s event next Monday, and will subsequently go on sale in India during November. We can take this to mean it’ll be an almost instant global rollout for the Nexus 4.

He adds that the phone will have a 4.7-inch touchscreen, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.2 as its operating system. This confirms the majority of the rumoured spec, but we’ll have to wait and see whether the screen will have an HD resolution and if an 8 megapixel camera sits on the Nexus 4′s rear panel.

Google’s “playground” event is also expected to play host to a 10.1-inch, Samsung produced tablet codenamed Manta, and the announcement of Android 4.2. Although a clutch of new Nexus device announcements was deemed a possibility, the latest leaks make no mention of such a move. We’ll find out all there is to know on 29 October.
