Details of Further HTC Windows Phone Device Emerges

Rumours have emerged about an upcoming HTC Windows Phone 8 device, suggesting that the prospective handset could be called the HTC 8S.

Tech site Pocket-Lint claims to have spoken to an unnamed source who revealed details about the Taiwanese manufacturer’s plans for Microsoft’s upcoming revamp of its mobile platform.

Codenames for three HTC Windows Phone devices have previously been leaked, with the handsets being known as the Accord, Zenith and Rio. Other reports have suggested that the Accord will be the flagship of the range and will bear the name 8X upon release.

With the most recent rumours suggesting that HTC may be following the same naming conventions the firm used with its One series there is a possibility that an 8V could also emerge as a part of any potential Windows Phone devcies

HTC has sent out invitations to an event that will be held in New York on 19 September, although the manufacturer has been cagey about what will actually be announced on that date.

With the only recent release from the Taiwanese firm being the Desire X, which was unveiled at IFA 2012 in Berlin last week, it will be interesting to see if the New York event serves as a showcase for a range of Windows Phone devices.
