Video of iPhone 5 Emerges Online

A video which features what is claimed to be a prototype of the iPhone 5 has emerged online, showing the device being compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 4S.

If the handset in the video is genuine it confirms a number of rumours about the new handset. The footage shows a device which is longer and slimmer than the iPhone 4S and has a centrally-mounted front-facing camera and audio jack positioned on the bottom of the phone.

Also shown in the video is the much-rumoured smaller dock connector which many commentators suspect will feature on the upcoming handset.

Apple appears to have addressed issues regarding the fragility of the iPhone 4S’ casing, with the purported iPhone 5 having what appears to be a matte black aluminium backplate.

Photos have also been published online of a white Apple device which could be the new iPhone. Taiwanese pop star called Jimmy Lin posted pictures of himself with the device on Asian social network Weibo, although details about how he came to be in possession of the new handset were unfortunately absent.

More rumours about the upcoming Apple device will no doubt emerge over the coming days, with speculation currently suggesting that the manufacturer will unveil its latest handset on 12 September. You can take a look at the video below:
