Sony’s much anticipated Xperia Hayabusa and Xperia Mint devices are once again at the centre of speculation, with a trusted source suggesting the devices will come to market with the names Xperia TX and Xperia T respectively.
According to a report from Xperia Blog, an insider at Sony has stated that both handsets will ship under the Xperia TX and Xperia T names, showing a close relationship between the two smartphones in terms of specification and market positioning.
The Xperia TX is set to feature a 4.6-inch 720p display complete with the Sony Mobile Bravia engine, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
Meanwhile the Xperia T will be slightly more compact with a 4.3-inch display, however, the screen will operate at the same resolution as the larger TX. Similarly, the T will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
Both handsets will reportedly feature a 13-megapixel Exmor R camera and Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be the operating system of choice.
As an interesting aside, Xperia Blog is also suggesting that the Xperia T will be featured in the forthcoming James Bond film, Skyfall, although it is as yet unclear whether Bond himself will be using the handset.
Both the Xperia T and Xperia TX are expected to see a public unveiling at the IFA show in Berlin at the end of August.
