Samsung has announced that it will be holding another of its Unpacked events, and this time it will be taking place Berlin, on 29 August. This falls in with previous rumours on the subject, and it’s possible Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 2 there.
This time last year, the original Galaxy Note was announced, and although reviews were mixed, it went on to sell in surprisingly large numbers. It has also influenced several similar devices, from the LG Optimus Vu and the Thomson X-View 2 we reported on earlier this week.
Rumours of the Galaxy Note 2 have been spreading for a while. Early word is that the new device will have an even larger screen, this time 5.5-inches, but a similarly sized chassis to the Note.
It’s also possible the smartphone/tablet hybrid will use the same Exynos 4 Quad processor found in the Galaxy S III, with its clock speed upped to 1.6GHz. It’ll be interesting to see whether there will be any bump in the screen resolution, or if the megapixel count will be increased too.
At the moment though, this is all speculation, and the only hint Samsung is giving away is in its Unpacked event tagline, which reads “when magical moments come alive”. The box even has a wand popping out of it. How cute.
Everything will be Unpacked at 7pm on 29 August.
