1. BlackBerry Reality Show Coming Soon
Yes, you read that correctly. Summer Daze with BlackBerry is a new reality TV show set to broadcast in the UK this summer, and it follows a group of 18-25 year-old people to different music festivals around the country. According to reports, it’s going to be a “structured” reality show, along the same lines as The Only Way is Essex. Viewers will be able to interact using social media, and BlackBerry will launch a hub with exclusive content too.
2. Samsung Wins Against Apple
Samsung has seen its first victory against Apple in its ongoing global patent lawsuit. The Hague has ordered Apple to pay damages to Samsung, as it was deemed to have infringed against a communication patent in several iPhone and iPad models. The exact amount has yet to be confirmed.

4. Apple Secures LiquidMetal Deal
Apple has signed an exclusive deal with the makes of LiquidMetal, extending one it had already made back in 2010. Apple now has the rights to use the material in future devices until 2014, and it’s rumoured to be using it in the next iPhone. Currently, some SIM removal tools that come with the iPhone are made from LiquidMetal, which is said to be stronger and more scratch resistant than other alloys.
5. 808 PureView Confirmed for US Launch
Nokia’s 41 megapixel camera phone, the 808 PureView, which took Mobile World Congress by storm earlier this year, will also be released in the USA. Initially expected not to make it there, Amazon will be selling the phone, unlocked, for $699. The release date hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s expected to be sometime next month.
6. ZTE Grand X Announced
ZTE has announced a new phone for Europe and Asia Pacific. It’s called the Grand X and it has Android 4.0, a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel camera and a 4.3-inch touchscreen. In the US, the same phone will be released, but it will have 4G LTE support and a Qualcomm dual-core chip instead. ZTE previously announced the Grand X as the Mimosa.
7. Android 4.0 Update for the Xperia S.
Sony Mobile has announced the availability of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia S smartphone, a device crying out for the latest version of Google’s OS. As the update is a comprehensive one, Sony has put together the below video showing many of the new features.
8. Oppo Finder Up for Pre-Order
In preparation for its release on the 1st July, Oppo has put its incredibly thin Android phone up for pre-order. It measures just 6.65mm thick, and uses Android 4.0 along with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and an 8 megapixel camera. It costs a very reasonable £250, but you’ll need to read Chinese if you want to order one.
9. Huawei Honour Out Now
Huawei has released the Honour, a mid-range Android phone with a reasonable £250 price tag. Equipped with a 1.4GHz single-core processor, a 4-inch screen and an 8 megapixel camera, it’s let down by coming only with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
10. The Galaxy S III is Literally today’s Hottest Phone
Pictures showing a Samsung Galaxy S III which spontaneously combusted have spread through the Internet like wildfire, but thankfully it didn’t hurt anyone when it did catch fire, and it has been an isolated incident so far. Samsung has replaced the phone and is investigating what caused it to overheat, and will provide further details when the tests are complete.
