The photograph, originally revealed on the China-based mobile1 forum, shows a test unit clearly placed inside a bespoke casing (presumably put in place to hide the final form factor).
Most interestingly, the image depicts the placement of software buttons in different positions to those found on the Ice Cream Sandwich flagship Nexus, instead featuring four rather than three on-screen keys and a swapping round multitasking and back buttons.
Additionally the tactile home button has retained its position below the screen, backing up recent stories on the matter.
Although the button placement issue may seem like a small one, it does indicate that Samsung is looking carefully at the integration of the TouchWiz UI within the Android 4.0 OS.
The Samsung Unpacked event is set to take place in London on 3 May where the much anticipated new Galaxy handset is due to finally be revealed.
