The Sony Ericsson Nozomi, or Xperia Arc HD, has been rumoured for a while, and thanks to a few spec leaks and a couple of blurry pictures, we thought we had a good idea of what the phone would be like when it’s finally made official. However, a series of new high quality pictures and a more comprehensive feature list have now appeared, making us want the Nozomi even more!
In a break from the current, highly-styled Xperia range, the Arc HD has a far more monolithic chassis, with a cool matte black finish, embossed Xperia branding and an unusual alert indicator bar under the screen that appears to be visible when the phone is face down too.
Although the bezel surrounding the screen looks quite thick, the display still measures 4.3-inch and has an HD resolution of 1280 x 720, so expect the phone to feel big but also deliver a stunning picture. In fact, it even looks beautifully sharp in the leaked pictures.
A dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor is once more said to beat inside the device, backed up by 1GB of RAM and the Adreno 220 GPU, plus Android Gingerbread will be onboard. Around the rear of the phone is a 12 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording capabilities.
Finally, you can expect the Arc HD to come with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, but choose wisely as there isn’t a microSD card slot for further expansion.
We think the Xperia Arc HD is looking superb, and can expect to see its official unveiling either at CES in January or Mobile World Congress in February.
