HTC are upping the ante at the entry level end of the market with the HTC Explorer, a device set to fill the spot recently vacated by the Wildfire.
Compared to its dual-core toting, Beats-enabled big brothers, the Gingerbread-toting Explorer is a little more down to earth on the specification sheet but still manages to sport a 3.2-inch HVGA (480×320 pixel) display and a 3 megapixel camera.
With a 600MHz processor under the hood, the device will chug along at a decent enough pace and the 500MB of onboard memory will be ample space for apps and photos for the first time user.
Customers will be also able to customize their HTC Explorer with a range of optional metallic back covers in blue, orange, white and purple.
Pricing has yet to be announced but expect it to go head-to-head with the Huawei Blaze when it goes on sale in the next couple of months.
