Details on the upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9790 have leaked onto the web giving expectant BlackBerry fans a glimpse of the prospective device’s form factor as well as providing some potential specs.
Tech site BoyGeniusReport managed to get hold of a what looks like a prototype of the handset and posted images showing the 9790′s touchscreen and QWERTY set up housed within a chassis that looks not dissimilar to the popular Bold 9700 iteration.
Accompanying specs unearthed by BGR have the 9790 as featuring a 5-megapixel camera, 8GB of internal storage, NFC support, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 1.2GHz processor under the hood. As with each of the devices released by RIM so far this year, the Bold 9790 will run BlackBerry OS 7.
No information on potential release dates was not provided but many will hope to see an official launch before the year is out, especially since RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie promised seven handsets before the year is out.
The news follows the leaking of an unknown BlackBerry yesterday said to have been designed by Porche. It’s currently unclear as to whether this handset will become part of the new stable of RIM devices.
