The Sony S1 and S2 tablets are due to go on pre-order in the UK from 1 September according to a leaked Sony Centre document stumbled upon by This Is My Next.
The tech blog didn’t have an awful lot of information to give away about the highly-anticipated Android slates, revealing that price points or an official release date was nowhere to be found in the files.
Sony has captured the tech world’s imagination with its upcoming pair of tablets thanks to their rather unique form factors which are a radical departure from what we’ve seen so far from similar devices.
Both will run on Honeycomb with the S1 sporting a 9.4-inch display and a wedge on the back, supposedly making it easier to grip and type on when laid flat. The S2 on the other hand, is a dual 5.5-inch screen clamshell device which takes on a cylindrical form factor when the device is closed.
The 1 September pre-order date is a little later than the “this summer” release Sony CEO Howard Springer mentioned a while back but we’re hoping they’re worth the wait!
