Sony Ericsson is set to release a smaller alternative to its latest flagship smartphone, the arc. The upcoming handset, codenamed Sony Ericsson Urushi, has posed for a series of snaps that were sent to GSM Arena.
There’s little doubting that the device takes its inspiration from its super-slim counterpart with a very similar form factor. One of the snaps shows it next to against the iPhone 4 to illustrate just how thin it is.
As for specs, the tipster said the Urushi packs a 1GHz Snapdragon chipset with a Scorpion CPU and an Adreno 205 GPU like its bigger brother. It has a 3.2-inch display with an impressive resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and Bravia Mobile engine technology, runs Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread (plus the Xperia UI) and has an 8 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording capabilities.
The Sony Ericsson Urushi is due out in September so an official announcement shouldn’t be too far away.
