LG has announced that it will be pre-loading Angry Birds Rio onto its series of Optimus smartphones. The Korean manufacturer has teamed up with Fox Digital Entertainment and Rovio to land the hugely popular game, meaning that users won’t need to venture onto the Android Market to get involved with the bird bashing fun.
The company revealed that the first handset to benefit from pre-loaded AB goodness will be the Canadian LG Optimus 2X. It plans to roll out the Brazil-themed flinger to the rest of its Optimus series from Q2, so expect to see it on the LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Black too.
“We’re excited to bring one of the most successful mobile games to our customers,” said Yong-seok Jang, Vice President of Business Strategy at LG.
He added: “Angry Birds Rio will help showcase the power, smoothness and speed of LG’s Optimus series of Android smartphones to our customers.”
Now all we need is a 3D version of Angry Birds and LG will be sorted!
