The last we heard about the keyboard-equipped Windows Phone 7 device, the HTC 7 Pro, it was expected to be out before the end of the year, however it looks very likely it’ll miss this date and will be coming in early 2011 instead.
This information comes from the phone appearing on O2 Germany’s site along with a January 2011 release date, which fits in with the phone’s rumoured US debut too; however it’ll be headed towards the CDMA network Sprint when it does arrive there.
The HTC 7 Pro is a very interesting phone, boasting one of HTC’s excellent slide-out QWERTY keyboards, making it the spiritual successor to the Touch Pro 2 – a phone which used the last version of Windows Mobile prior to its effective retirement. Of course, the 7 Pro is going to use Windows Phone 7 and will be powered by a 1GHz processor, plus a very healthy 512MB ROM and 576MB RAM.
Other features include a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video and LED Flash, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, 3G/HSDPA/HSUPA and GPS. The screen will measure 3.6″ with a resolution of 800 x 480.
HTC announced the 7 Pro along with their other Windows Phone 7 handsets back in October, so the spec is final, and all we need is for it to go on sale!
