The BlackBerry 9800 Slider has been pictured by someone who not only owns a decent camera, but knows how to use it too; as the latest series of snaps finally do the still-unannounced phone some justice. The 9800 didn’t get much love the first few times around, but these new pictures should change all that, as it’s looking very slick indeed.
An optical trackpad sits below the large touchscreen, which if Google’s translation of the site is correct, won’t be using the SurePress system found on RIM’s BlackBerry Storm phones. This could be to do with keeping the thickness of the slide to a minimum, as those sensors would increase it considerably.
They also speculate that the rear panel will get the leather treatment also seen on the Bold, while the camera will be a 5 megapixel item. The pictures also show a MicroSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone socket. As before, it’s running BlackBerry 6 OS.
How long are we going to have to wait for the 9800 to be made official? We’re not sure, but judging by how good it’s looking here, we are considerably more excited about it than before!
