CyberMonday Goes Mobile!

Black Friday used to be the biggest holiday shopping day of the year. Although it’s still a popular shopping day because of all of the sales that are associated with it, in-store shopping has decreased over the years as online shopping has become preferable to holiday buyers. Thus was born CyberMonday. And now we see CyberMonday changing as well with more and more people doing their online Christmas shopping from their cell phones.

CyberMonday first started to become a big holiday back in the era when many people still had slow personal computers at home (or no computer there) but had faster computers at work. They would return to work on the Monday after Thanksgiving and waste time online finishing up their holiday shopping. Online retailers noticed this trend and started offering great online deals to shoppers on CyberMonday.These days it’s not uncommon for people to do their CyberMonday shopping from home. And increasingly, they’re doing it during their commute or while in line for lunch. That’s because more and more phones have web access which allows people to use them to research the items that they want to buy and to purchase them from the mobile web.Don’t worry if you haven’t gotten online yet to do your holiday shopping; retailers are saying that they’ll extend their CyberMonday deals into December to encourage more shopping.
