We’re already worn out from the hype of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but the manufacturer has just taken it all one step further and confirmed that more tablets will be on the way next year. HP Wong, Head of Product Planning at Samsung revealed in a Q&A session at IFA that the Galaxy Tab, which currently sports Froyo, can be upgraded to Android 3.0 aka Gingerbread. Microsoft has announced that Windows Phone 7 has flown from the developers’ nest and is now in the hands of manufacturers for the final stage of preparation before it’s released. The mobile OS has been described as the “most thoroughly tested platform ever released by Microsoft” by the Redmond Group and we’re not surprised, considering that the company are hoping the new software will rival Android and iOS. The wait is over! The Samsung Galaxy Tab has been officially unveiled at IFA and we didn’t want to wait a second longer to find out what exactly it had to offer. The 7 inch device is set for an October release and essentially has the same functionality as a mobile phone. It can make and receive calls as well as send SMS, MMS and email messages – that’s one up on the iPad already then!
